A concerted effort at increasing the number of GVTC broadband customers is paying off for the communications company. Jeff Mnick, GVTC vice president of sales and marketing, announced that in August GVTC surpassed 20,000 broadband customers for the first time in company history. In the past three years, GVTC has experienced tremendous growth for its internet services. During that time, Mnick said GVTC more than tripled its cable modem customers and more than doubled its DSL and fiber to the home customers. “The trend of our communications business is going to be based on IP, and owning the pipe is critical to the success and survival of GVTC or any other communications company,” added Mnick. “We want to make sure any GVTC customer we have is being offered a broadband connection whenever possible.” Mnick said GVTC will continue its comprehensive marketing mix of outside sales, customer service, direct mail, print ads and billboards to continue making customers aware of the company’s broadband capabilities.
