Boerne Concert Band plays a free community concert at 7 p.m. on Boerne’s Main Plaza. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets to enjoy music under the stars.

FRIDAY, OCT. 19

A farmers’ market is held 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday at the Leon Springs Dance Hall, 24135 W. Interstate 10, in the parking lot at the westbound access road at Boerne Stage Road. A farmer’s market is held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday at the River Rock Events Center courtyard, 30260 Saratoga, off of Keeneland and Ralph Fair Road in Fair Oaks Ranch.

The Boerne Festival of Arts & Music runs today through Sunday at various locations. An annual event put on by Cibolo Arts Council and the Boerne Area Artists Association, it features a weekend of art exhibits, art sales, live music, food, drinks and fun. Events take place at Ye Kendall Inn and Main Plaza. A gala fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the courtyard at Ye Kendall Inn offers “hot culinary creations” and music by Patrice Pike as well as a live art auction. SATURDAY, OCT. 20

The third annual Wild West Day at the Enchanted Springs Ranch, on Highway 46 east of Boerne, will be open to the public with entertainment and activities throughout the day. The event is a fund raiser hosted by the Rotary Club of San Antonio at the Dominion and features stagecoach rides, gunfighters and bankrobbers, tractor wagon and pony rides, a Knights of the Guild jousting even with Thor the World’s Tallest Horse, face painting clowns, balloons, costumed native Indians, Civil War displays and enactment. 4-H and FFA validation for lambs, goats is conducted 8 a.m. to noon at the Kendall County Fairgrounds show barn. All 4-H & FFA members that have a goat or lamb project for the Kendall County Junior Livestock Show in January or any major stock show in 2008 must validate their projects today. Keep Boerne Beautiful's fourth annual Make A Difference Day waterway clean up begins registration at 8:30 a.m. at the Main Plaza gazebo. Breakfast and free T-shirts are available for the first 150 volunteers, who will all be provided with service patches, gloves and trash bags. From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers may choose their area or be assigned to a local waterway or neighborhood. The Key To The Hills Antique Show is held today and Sunday at the Kendall County Fairgrounds. The event is hosted by the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce. The Kendall Masonic Lodge Annual Sausage Dinner, held 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 897 E. Blanco, features sausage, potato salad, beans, dessert and iced tea for $7 a plate. Harvest Moon Celebration, an old-world evening of fun and celebration with a twist on the origin of Halloween, will be held 3 to 9 p.m. at the Boerne Visitors Center, 1407 S. Main at the historic Kingsbury House. Harvest Moon Celebration will have live Celtic music, campfire ghost stories, a strolling magician, fortune telling, face painting, old fashioned games, arts and crafts, food and drinks and more.
