ALAMO HEIGHTS House burglary Sept. 5, 5 p.m., 100 block of Catherine: Police were contacted when the homeowner reported that between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. the previous evening, someone had unlawfully entered her house through a window in a back bedroom. The owner also said the window had been left open and the screen damaged. The homeowner found that a camera with several attachments was missing, as well as an overnight bag. Theft Sept. 6, 4:18 p.m., 200 block of Cloverleaf: Officers were dispatched to the scene when the resident called and said two men were stealing a 20-foot aluminum extending ladder from a neighbor’s house. The area was searched with negative results. Open container in vehicle Sept. 6, 8:21 p.m., 6000 block of Broadway: A traffic stop was conducted and the officer smelled a strong alcohol odor coming from the vehicle. The driver was asked if he had been drinking and answered in the negative, but an open can of beer was found behind the driver’s seat. The office determined the driver was not impaired and issued a summons for speeding and possession of an open container in a motor vehicle. Burglary of vehicle Sept. 7, 7:21 p.m., 5800 block of Broadway: Police were called to the parking lot of a local restaurant where a vehicle owner said the lock on his car had been punched out earlier, and his laptop computer was missing, along with a credit card from his wallet. Police received video from the restaurant that showed the drivers of two vehicles acting suspiciously as they drove around the parking lot. Burglary of vehicle Sept. 7, 11:53 p.m., 5100 block of Broadway: A restaurant worker called police to say his truck had been burglarized while parked in a lot behind the establishment. The thief had attempted to punch in the passenger-side door until he saw the driver’s-side door was open, and entered the vehicle. A CD player was removed from the dashboard and several other items were missing. While making the report, the officer found out that another burglary had been committed from a different car. Burglary of vehicle Sept. 8, 3:08 p.m., 5800 block of Broadway: A woman reported her Hummer had been broken into while she was eating at a local restaurant. The reporting officer noted the lock had been punched out and was told an iPod and a backpack was missing from the vehicle. Theft Sept. 12, 12:20 p.m., 6900 block of Broadway: A student at Alamo Heights High School reported her purse, money and cell phone had been stolen from her locker. She stated that no one else had the combination for her locker.
