SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), in cooperation with the City of San Antonio and the San Antonio Police Department, announced that modifications to FM 1560 began Monday.

The work consists of modifying the pavement markings to install a two-way center turn lane between Texas 16 and Sonoma Parkway; installing two travel lanes eastbound from Sonoma Parkway to Loop 1604 and accommodating dual left turn lanes from eastbound FM 1560 to northbound Loop 1604.

The work will cost $75,000 and will be completed in about 2 weeks.

In addition, traffic signals will be installed at the intersections of Sonoma Parkway and Windy Creek by spring at an estimated cost of $250,000.
