These scholastically talented high school seniors now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 800 scholarships worth more than $2.5 million that will be offered in the spring of 2008. “There’s a spirit of excellence in learning at Keystone,” said Hugh McIntosh, head of Keystone School. “Sasha is an example of the academic success and well-rounded achievement that this school aims to foster.” The semifinalists were selected from more than 140,000 black high school juniors across the nation who requested consideration in the 2008 National Achievement Program when they took the 2006 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) during the end of their junior year. The nationwide pool of semifinalists were designated within geographic regions and are the highest scoring program entrants in the states that make up each region.
