A special election is set in Leon Valley on Nov. 6 for a proposed street maintenance sales tax increase of one-fourth cent. Early voting is under way at the following times, also at City Hall:

Today –

7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Friday –

7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Saturday – Closed

Sunday — Closed

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday —

7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 –

7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The proposition reads as follows:

“The adoption of a local sales and use tax in the City of Leon Valley, Texas at the rate of one-fourth of one percent to provide revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets. The tax will expire in four years unless reauthorized by the voters, as per the Texas Tax Code, Section 327.007.”

Applications for ballots by mail should be mailed to City Secretary Marie Feutz at City Hall by Oct. 30.

Spanish-language assistance will be available at the polls, during early voting and on Election Day.

On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Leon Valley City Hall, at 6400 El Verde Road.
