BERGHEIM – A spirited crowd gathered on FM 3351 North this past Saturday to enjoy barbecue, a country-music troubadour, and bear witness to the blessing and branding of a new building in Bergheim – a barn. Sand Creek Post and Beam of Texas located at 245 FM 3351 specializes in barn kits that are used for offices, houses, and of course, outbuildings.

The idea behind Sand Creek Post and Beam of Texas came about at a 30-year high school reunion in Nebraska and a collaboration of high school mates Len Dickinson and Stan Hegener. Hegener said that Dickinson had just begun to sell the barn kits when they met at the reunion, and the company was looking for someone to sell them in Texas. So Hegener, along with his wife, Pam, relocated from Louisiana to Boerne to become a company dealer for not only Texas, but New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arizona. Hegener has been selling the barn kits in the Boerne area for the last two years but felt it was time to assemble a barn model that would not only be used for the company’s offices, but also to give potential customers a physical example of the edifice.

Sand Creek Post and Beam of Texas can be reached at (210) 745-2743, or log on to their Web site at www. sandcreekpostandbeamoftx.com.
