Fellow Helotes citizens, I would like to tell you that over the last weeks, our quaint little town has been under siege by three of the most underhanded, stab-in-the-back council people and their cohorts that this city has ever seen.

Sure we have had disagreements at City Hall, what town doesn’t? But what has happened here tops it all. After their lawsuit to tie our mayor’s hands so they could redo our longstanding policy and procedures and strip the mayor of any powers he might have (and it was not many) then they proceeded to make themselves out the heroes in the tax matter, meaning they knew at all the workshops for the budget that they were going to go to council and vote against it, trying to make the three new guys look like they just did not care.

Our City Hall, our town, our mayor and two new councilmen and we the citizens are being held hostage by this out-of-control group that thinks they can do anything they want and it’s OK. God help us.

In my opinion, now that the mayor has no powers, he should be like any other council member and have the right to a vote.

People, do not be fooled by their sweet talk. They are again filling your heads with half-truths and what they want you to hear. It is a far cry from what they really have up their sleeves. This has been proved in the past and this is the reason the other three were voted out after only serving one term. A first for Helotes, I might add. We told them we the citizens did not like the direction they and their group was taking the city. Did they care?

Remember this come May. And let’s have another first for Helotes by voting the remainder of this group out after only one term. I just pray we can undo the damage they have and continue to do to our city.
