The Hill Country Women’s Connection’s Holiday Extravaganza features holiday shopping, gift items and baked goods 10 a.m. to noon at Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club, 7900 Fair Oaks Parkway. Doll collector Mary Masters is guest speaker for the HCWC lunch, $13.

The Leon Springs Business Association hosts an 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. luncheon at the Dominion Country Club featuring Scott Stover of the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department speaking on city parks in District 8, what’s here now and what’s in development. The Kendall County Retired Teachers Association meets at 1:30 p.m. in the Boerne ISD board room at 123 Johns Road. The program will feature three volunteers – Shirley Rittimann, Louise Blaze and Maxine Haas – sharing their experiences. Vic Hinze, chairman of Informative Protective Services, will discuss some of the latest scams. All retired school personnel and interested others are welcome.

“The Dining Room,” continuing tonight at the Boerne Community Theatre, features a pastiche of scenes in the lives of the WASPs of the northeastern United States. The production features San Antonio actors Christopher Dean, Lisa Hart, Kevin Wilson and Linda McCullers and Boerne resident Keisha McFerrin playing roles ranging from small children to elderly grandparents in 18 scenes that span five decades. SATURDAY, NOV. 10

A farmers’ market is held 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday at the Leon Springs Dance Hall, 24135 W. Interstate 10, in the parking lot at the westbound access road at Boerne Stage Road. A farmer’s market is held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday at the River Rock Events Center courtyard, 30260 Saratoga, off of Keeneland and Ralph Fair Road in Fair Oaks Ranch.

The Leon Springs Presbyterian Church bazaar, 23943 Interstate 10 West 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., features arts and crafts, Christmas items, books, small antiques, candles, plants, paintings, jewelry and more. A rainwater catchment seminar is presented 9 a.m. to noon (and 1 to 4 p.m. if the morning session fills) by John Kight, engineer and rainwater catchment owner. The Kight’s home is in a traditional development. They have no well or outside water source and their system comfortably supplies water for all household and landscape needs. The Vintage Base Ball Veteran's Cup is hosted by the Boerne White Sox Vintage Base Ball Team at the Agricultural Heritage Museum. A Fall Fling Fundraiser for the Boerne Boys and Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country is held 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Enchanted Springs Ranch, 242 W. Highway 46, Boerne.

Parke Hedges and the Examiners will headline the CinderFella Country Western Ball and Silent Auction to benefit the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet. The Americana/blues band perform at the Leon Springs Dance Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets, which include hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dancing, cost $30 for adults and $15 for children.
