Emergency Medical Services told a responding officer that a man has been cut and was in the EMS unit. He smelled strongly of intoxicants and said he didn’t know who stabbed him. When asked where he and another witness had been, the victim replied “nowhere.” He refused to answer any questions. He had multiple lacerations to the forehead and near his ear. A witness said they were at The Drinkery drinking, then went to Whataburger, then came home. The witness said they had no arguments with anyone. After parking, a suspect parked across the street and without saying anything began to assault the man, punching, kicking and apparently cutting him. As the witness approached to defend the man, the suspect shoved him to the ground and fled in an unknown direction. The knife was recovered at the crime scene and appeared clean. The witness appeared very intoxicated and extremely emotional over the incident. Neither of the men gave a satisfactory description of the suspect, or chose to cooperate with the investigation. The injuries were not life-threatening at this time. The man also sustained two fractures to the skull consistent with a punch or fall.
