Even though City Council may approve projects or contracts for projects, there are times that things just don’t happen as quickly as we would like due to external factors.

The clearing of Lewis Creek was approved and funded by the council but the contractor hasn’t been able to accomplish this project, so it will go through the bid process again.

The planned storage building has been twice advertised with only one bid submitted, which was more that twice the estimated cost, so this project will also go through the bid process again.

The mowing of the rights of way was not satisfactory at all and another contractor has been hired to mow, which should occur within the next two weeks.

Road maintenance is now just about complete due to the lack of initial bids and rain earlier in the year.

I’d like to thank the city staff (administrator, secretary, fire marshal, police chief, lieutenant and police officers) for participating in the H-E-B Halloween event. More than 600 bags of candy and treats were handed out during this event. I’d like also to thank H-E-B for their donation of candy for this event.

The next big event that the city will participate in is the annual Christmas Lighting scheduled for the Friday after Thanksgiving in downtown Bulverde.
