The nonprofit organization had 409 members by early November. That’s 32 more than last season’s record total. Ninety-six people have joined at the donor level, said membership chairman Linda McCullers. They paid from $175 to $1,250. Donor-level members receive additional benefits and can claim part of their membership as a charitable donation.

Total audience numbers are also the highest ever, said BCT President Anne Keever Cannon. Nine years ago about 1,000 people attended shows during the entire season. In September, 907 people saw Rumors, just the first of 11 productions planned for the year. That beat the previous record of 904 patrons for Soup du Jour, which played in July and August.

“We’re very grateful to the people of Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch and San Antonio for their support,” Cannon said. “We moved into our larger playhouse at 907 E. Blanco Road because of our growth. And that growth is continuing.”

The theatre’s current production, A.R. Gurney’s The Dining Room, co-produced by Methodist Boerne Emergency Center, runs weekends through Nov. 17. BCT’s holiday production, A Christmas Carol, co-produced by Larry Lester Realty LLC, is to play weekends Dec. 7 through 23 as part of Boerne’s Hill Country Christmas.

Boerne Community Theatre provides quality community theatre in the Hill Country. Visit its Web site at www.boernetheatre.org.
