The music of Miguel del Aguila is featured at 7:30 p.m. tonight and Sunday at the First United Methodist Church of Boerne, 205 E. James St. Selections include Tango Trio, Charango Capriccioso, Clocks, Life is a Dream, Presto II and Salon Buenos Aires.

FRIDAY, NOV. 30

Weihnachts Fest Parade Weekend is a celebration of German Heritage Christmas in downtown Boerne. Festivities include a Saturday night parade and throughout the weekend food and drink booths, snow show, arts and crafts, caroling, Santa in the gazebo for pictures, Biergarten, live entertainment and extended hours of operation for some shops. A farmers’ market is held 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday at the Leon Springs Dance Hall, 24135 W. Interstate 10, in the parking lot at the westbound access road at Boerne Stage Road. SATURDAY, DEC. 1

The San Antonio Brass plays at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 208 W. Bandera in Boerne. This holiday season the San Antonio Brass features John Harbison's Christmas Vespers for brass quintet and narrator. The first half of the program will feature classic holiday favorites from the San Antonio Brass Christmas Album. Admission is by donation ($10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors is suggested).

SUNDAY, DEC. 2

“Celebrate A Life,” a 4 p.m. concert by the San Antonio Choral Society, features the 90-voice choir with brass accompaniment in performance of Daniel Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata, is conducted at the First United Methodist Church of Boerne, 205 James St. Admission is $15 for the general public, $12 for seniors and Texas Public Radio cardholders and free to students.

FRIDAY, DEC. 7

A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens and adapted by Romulus Linney, opens its series of performances at 7:30 p.m. at the Boerne Community Theatre, 907 E. Blanco. The classic Christmas story about Scrooge's understanding of the true holiday spirit continues through Dec. 23 in performances Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 to $15. MONDAY, DEC. 10

Hill Country Newcomers Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at the Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne. A featured guest will be doing a "makeover." The club is collecting non-perishable foods for distribution during the holidays.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 12

Texas Supreme Court Justice Paul W. Green will officiate at the installation of the 2008 Officers of the Kendall County Republican Women at their Christmas salad luncheon at 11 a.m. at the Boerne Community Center. Members are being asked to bring as their guest a “next generation” younger friend. Anyone interested in learning more about Kendall County Republican Women is welcome. THURSDAY, DEC. 13

The Leon Springs Business Association’s holiday mixer, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Independence Village at the Dominion, 8 Dominion Drive, features free food and cocktails. The even is free.
