Burglary of vehicle

Oct. 31, 4 p.m., 100 block of Bartlett: A woman said one of her cars, which is used by her son, was rifled through and the glove box was open.

Burglary of house

Nov. 1, 2:55 p.m., 900 block of Canterbury: Police were called when an alarm was activated at a house. The officer noticed the door screen had been cut and there were fresh blade-type pry marks on the window. Nothing was found to be missing.

Criminal mischief

Nov. 1, 7:08 a.m., 1100 block of Wiltshire: A person visiting friends said he noticed his car had been hit with eggs and suspected it had been from trick-or-treaters from the previous night, which was Halloween.

Burglary of house

Nov. 2, 2:06 a.m., 1000 block of Morningside: An officer responded to a complaint from the resident that during the previous night, a woman who had been living with him had moved out during the night and taken a number of items. These included a large flat-screen TV and a handgun. The officer took photos of the affected areas, including where a door had been pried open, and also lifted several fingerprints.

Criminal mischief

Nov. 2, 5:37 p.m., 100 block of South Vandiver: The owner of a cab flagged down a police officer and said that when he was turning from eastbound Rittiman to southbound South Vandiver, he heard two cracks that sounded like something hitting his vehicle. He stopped and found two marks on his windows that looked like it had been hit by rocks and he saw two boys running behind bushes near the intersection. The officer was advised that several calls were coming in about kids at that intersection throwing rocks at cars. The officer went to the location, stopped, contacted and identified 13 juveniles and older teenagers there, who claimed no knowledge of the alleged events, and were then released and all left on a city bus. The officer was subsequently contacted by another person who said she was in her front yard when she saw the incident happen and corroborated the cab driver’s report. The officer had VIA police respond to the scene and made them aware of the situation since it took place at a bus stop.

Burglary of vehicle

Nov. 3, 9:31 a.m., 300 block of Arcadia Place: A couple reported both their vehicles had been broken into and various items had been stolen from them, including money, a cell phone charger, credit cards and a debit card.

Burglary of vehicle

Nov. 6, 8:09 a.m., 200 block of Canterbury Hill: A couple reported that sometime during the previous night, both of their unlocked vehicles had been broken into and ransacked. A gym bag containing wallets and purses, and a set of binoculars was recovered nearby, but a cell phone was missing.

Burglary of house

Nov. 6, 10:43 a.m., 600 block of Garraty: A homeowner reported an air compressor had been stolen from an open garage sometime during the previous night.

Burglary of vehicle

Nov. 6, 10:54 a.m., 500 block of Garraty: A woman reported that her daughter’s car had been broken into and the stereo and an iPod had been stolen. She also reported that a shed on the property had been broken into and equipment and building supplies had been stolen.

Nov. 6, 1:12 p.m., 800 block of Canterbury Hill: A man reported his truck had been broken into and ransacked overnight and two cell phones were missing.

Nov. 6, 1:57 p.m., 1000 block of Canterbury Hill: A woman reported that her car, which was parked at the curb, had been broken into and ransacked. A coin purse was the only thing missing.

Reckless damage

Nov. 6, 6:08 p.m., 1100 block of Garraty: A resident of a town home reported that a vehicle had damaged part of the building, The person said two nights previously, when she was taking out her trash, she saw a car strike the corner of the building, saw the occupants get out and inspect the damage, then get back in their car and drive off. The woman had gotten the license plate number and supplied it to the officer.
