ImageCOMFORT – The Holekamp House Bed and Breakfast has been selected “Best in the Southwest” in the annual Best of BedandBreakfast.com Awards for 2007-2008.

The Best of BedandBreakfast.com awards are based upon a qualitative and quantitative review of the nearly 10,000 independent reviews submitted to BedandBreakfast.com, the leading online B&B directory and reservation network worldwide. Holekamp House is one of five bed and breakfasts recognized as “Best in the Southwest.”

“The Holekamp House earned high marks from reviewers for their fine accommodations, romantic amenities, and wonderful hospitality and service,” said Sandy Soule, editor of BedandBreakfast.com and noted travel writer.

The Holekamp House reflects the sense of history that is a part of the town of Comfort, capturing the romance of another era. Beautifully decorated with antiques, the turn-of-the-century mansion was once home to Otto Holekamp, a direct descendant of one of Comfort’s founding fathers. Innkeepers John and Mary Straley decorate for the holidays.

At Christmas, two giant nutcrackers stand guard outside the front door and each room is decorated in its own Christmas theme. Throughout February, the Holekamp House usually offers a room package that includes wine, chocolate-covered strawberries from Sweet Comfort, a basket of lotions and other amenities, and roses.

The house is an original Sears & Roebuck kit home built in 1906.  Each spacious room has a private bath.  Beds with net canopies, window seats, sitting areas and private balconies are part of the experience.  In addition to a wonderful breakfast, innkeepers John and Mary Straley serve guests dessert each evening, too.  The Holekamp House also is a great place for girlfriend getaways and family reunions.

With a central location, Hokekamp House makes a great base for exploring the surrounding Texas Hill Country. For more information on Holekamp House, visit www.holekamphouse.com. For more information on Comfort, visit www.comfortchamberofcommerce.com or phone (830) 995-3131.
