A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens and adapted by Romulus Linney, continues its run at the Boerne Community Theatre, 907 E. Blanco. The classic Christmas story about Scrooge's understanding of the true holiday spirit continues through Dec. 23 in performances Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 to $15. “A Hill Country Christmas” enters its fourth weekend with A Hill Country Cowboy Christmas. Tonight beginning at 6 p.m., downtown Boerne will fill with cowboy characters, entertainment will feature regular “snow shows,” musical and theatrical acts and Santa Claus and the Missus will greet children on Main Plaza. A farmers’ market is held 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday at the Leon Springs Dance Hall, 24135 W. Interstate 10, in the parking lot at the westbound access road at Boerne Stage Road. TUESDAY, DEC. 18

Mother Nature's Story-time at the Cibolo Nature Center, 10 to 11 a.m. at the visitors’ center, is free. Constance Keremes, youth librarian at the Boerne Public Library, will entertain hildren ages 3 to 5 with wildlife and nature-related stories, participate in finger plays, motion games and crafts.

THURSDAY, DEC. 20

The Boerne Concert Band will present a special concert of holiday season music on Thursday evening, December 20, 2007, at the North Middle School Auditorium on Johns Road in Boerne at 7:00 p.m. The 70 piece band, led by Director Larry Schmidt, will present Holiday favorites and carols for family and personal enjoyment. The band, newly formed in 2006 from musicians in San Antonio and the Hill Country, has received enthusiastic standing ovations in its initial concerts for the band’s sparkling performances. Cowboy Christmas at Enchanted Springs Ranch, today through Monday on Highway 46 West, features all kinds of western entertainment, things for everyone, children and adults alike, lots of music and concessions. Come and step out of time and stroll through our Holiday decorated Old West Town.
