Spring Branch Middle School student wins ‘Tim Duncan Character’ award |

Courtesy photo Special to the Bulverde News Three Comal ISD students were recently named “Tim Duncan Character” award winners. Spring Branch Middle student Heather Cordy, Canyon Middle student Citlally Barahona and Canyon Lake High student Marli Elrod-Davis all received an award certificate and a T-shirt and other prizes. Teachers nominate students who model self-initiated character traits. Winners also received notebooks, pen and pencil sets, calculators, lunch bags, assignment pads, certificates, and San Antonio Spurs tickets. A selection committee comprised of representatives from the Tim Duncan Foundation, the Spurs Foundation and the San Antonio Spurs chooses Tim Duncan’s Character Award winners from San Antonio-area schools. Elrod-Davis was nominated by CLHS teacher Keitha St. Clair, Cordy was nominated by SBMS band director Chelsy Merrill, and Barahona was nominated by CMS teacher Christie Krull.
