Special to the Southside Reporter From flamenco to jazz, oil painting to acting, drums to guitars, classes offered by the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department run the gamut. There’s something for everyone on the art, dance and music class schedule for the winter session that begins Jan. 7, and runs through March 15. Interested students should mark their calendars for the mass registration, slated for Jan. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Berta Almaguer Dance Studio, at 138 S. Josephine Tobin Drive. The classes, which meet once a week for six to eight weeks, are $30. Students may sign up for an additional class during the same session for an additional $15 and other siblings or family members who live in the same household receive a reduced rate of $25. Classes are offered at locations such as Commander’s House, at 645 S. Main; Garza Community Center, at 1450 Mira Vista; Lion’s Field, at 2809 Broadway; Lou Hamilton center, at 10700 Nacogdoches; New Territories center, at 9023 Bowen; Our Lady of the Lake University, at Sam Ash, 25 N.E.
