Division 5 of Kiwanis International recently honored Clemens High School teacher Carol Elliott by awarding her with the Past Lieutenant Governor’s Association Youth Leadership Award at a division council meeting in Converse.

Elliott is in her 10th year as the Clemens Key Club advisor, currently the longest tenure of any Division 5 club advisor. A $500 donation was made in her name to the division’s scholarship fund in recognition of her service to her club and community.

Elliott was also named a C.T. Bush Medal recipient. This coveted award is given to those individuals who have exceeded expectations for service to the community in the name of Kiwanis Interna-tional. An additional $750 donation was made in her name to the scholarship fund.

Elliott was nominated by Dr. Larry Milton, the school’s Kiwanis sponsor from the Greater Randolph Area Kiwanis Club. Both awards were presented by Larry Phelps, the immediate past lieutenant governor of Division 5 and member of the New Braunfels Kiwanis Club.
