BOERNE – City crews will pick up organic Christmas trees the week of Jan. 7. All ornaments, lights, stands, nails, etc., must be removed before placing the tree at the curb. These items will damage the wood-chipping machine. Trees that have not been stripped of these items will not be picked up. Trees will be taken to the Kendall County brush-chipping yard on Highway 46 East next to the fairgrounds. Residents are invited to pick up some of the fragrant mulch. The county requests a $5 donation per pickup load. After the curbside tree collection week, city residents can still take their trees/brush directly to the Kendall County brush site. Public brush disposal and mulch pick up is available Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The attendant on duty will load the mulch if equipment is available; however, the attendant will not be responsible for damage to vehicles or trailers while loading. The brush site is not available for commercial use.
