Criminal mischief

Nov. 5, 6:27 p.m., 200 block of Alta Avenue: A person complained that sometime during the day, a golf ball had struck his car window, shattering it. The officer collected the golf ball as evidence.

Criminal mischief

Nov. 6, 2:48 p.m., 6100 block of Broadway: The owner of a pickup truck reported one of his tires had been slashed while he was parked in a parking lot. The driver suspected several employees of a local business as the culprits.

Robbery

Nov. 12, 3:29, 5300 block of Broadway: Officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress at a video store. After receiving identifying information from dispatch, police stopped a vehicle matching the description and had all the occupants exit the car. All were handcuffed while police conducted their investigation. After confirming the address of the video store, one of the occupants stated that she had stolen the merchandise and the other had nothing to do with it. Found inside the car were 11 videos with the security strip still attached. The store manager said he had seen the suspects and thought they had acted suspiciously, and then they left the store, activating the alarms and running towards their car. All were given criminal trespass warning, and two were identified and released, while the other three occupants were taken to the police department and processed. Their car was towed to the impound lot. The three suspects were charged with theft or theft enhancement, based on previous convictions, and taken to the San Antonio magistrate’s office.

Possession of marijuana

Nov. 12, 3:48 p.m., 100 block of Kennedy: Officers initiated a traffic stop due to failure to signal lane change. The driver did not have a driver’s license or insurance papers and the officer could smell a strong marijuana odor. The driver was asked to exit the car, who he said belonged to a relative in Alamo Heights. The officer found a bag of marijuana and a pill bottle, which contained Xanax. The officer also found two packs of rolling papers on the driver’s person. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, and taken downtown for booking.

Nov. 12, 11:34 a.m., 300 block of Harrison: A woman reported her mountain bike had been stolen from her carport, where it was chained and secured. The chain had been cut

Criminal trespass

Nov. 13, 11 a.m., 6900 block of Broadway: Officers responded to Alamo Heights High School in reference to a juvenile violating a criminal trespass warning. The warning had been given because of a previous assault on school property. A school official found the juvenile in a locker room and was escorting him to the school office when the juvenile got loose and ran away. The officers met found the juvenile, who know he wasn’t supposed to be on the campus. He was arrested fro criminal trespass, and the school pressed charges. The youth was taken to police headquarters, his parents were called, and he was taken to the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center for booking.

Burglary of residence

Nov. 14, 1:27 p.m., 400 block of Rittiman: A woman reported several power tools had been stolen from a room attached to her garage. Police were able to lift fingerprints and entered them as evidence.

Burglary of vehicle

Nov. 17, 12:01 p.m., 400 block of Burr: A vehicle owner reported a generator had been stolen from the bed of his pickup truck during the night. The generator had been locked to the truck bed by a cable and that cable was cut.

Nov. 20, 11:13 a.m., 100 block of Canterbury Hill: A homeowner said about two weeks previously, she had been walking her children to the bus stop and found items that had been in her vehicle strewn across her and a neighbor’s yard. She said her truck had been ransacked, but nothing was actually missing.

Burglary of habitation

Nov. 20, 3:52 p.m., 700 block of Canterbury Hill: A homeowner reported that when she came home, the rear door of her house was open and could see someone had stolen a large TV. She and the officer went through the house, which had been ransacked, and found the door had been pried open. After a walk-through, the homeowner’s husband returned home, and it was found a number of items were missing, including several firearms, computer equipment and electronic equipment totaling almost $5,000. A fingerprint search was conducted, and photos were taken of the crime scenes.

Burglary

Nov. 26, 3:14 p.m., 500 block of Grandview: When a homeowner returned home, she saw the back door of her house was open and several items were missing or disturbed. A computer had been stolen from the kitchen. A camera was taken from a desk, and the house had been ransacked. After further inspection, it was found that a variety of electronic items were missing from various rooms in the house. The officer took fingerprints and photographs of the crime scenes.

Nov. 27, 9:47 a.m., 300 block of Ridgemont: A homeowner said after he woke up that morning, he discovered the door from the laundry room to outside was open. Clothes were strewn about and the man’s son reported that cash, credit cards and house keys from his pants were missing.

Nov. 28, 12:52 p.m., 1100 block of Wiltshire: A homeowner told police that a variety of golfing equipment worth $2,500 had been stolen from a shed behind his house overnight.

OLMOS PARK

Theft

Nov. 7, 11:10 p.m., 5100 block of McCullough: A man told police he had accidentally left his wallet in a gas station restroom, and when he went to retrieve it, it was gone and no one had turned it in to the clerk. The officer looked at the video tapes and saw the claimant enter and leave the restroom. Then he saw a store employee enter the restroom, and leave a few minutes later. The officer saw the employee was acting suspiciously, looking around and out the door and acting very paranoid. At one point, the clerk was seen putting something behind a stack of sodas and trying to hide something. The clerk then left for the day, but forgot to close out his register, and that clerk knew the officer was looking at the tapes. When the clerk was called back in to close his register, he was read his Miranda rights and told he was seen acting suspiciously on the tape. The clerk confessed he had taken the money but dumped the wallet. The wallet was found and the claimant called. The man said he did not want to press charges, but did want to talk to the clerk about making the right choices in life.

Nov. 13, 7:42 p.m., 100 block of Mandalay: A man called and told police his mountain bike had been stolen from his residence and he had seen someone riding it down Brittany.

Possession of controlled substance

Nov. 19, 8:38 p.m., 5100 block of McCullough: After being stopped for speeding and a search done on his car, a man was detained for possession of a dangerous drug when several blue pills were found. The car was impounded and the pills turned out to be alprazolan, more commonly know as Xanax, a prescription drug used for treating anxiety and panic disorder. The man was arrested.

Warrant arrest

Nov. 21, 12:21 p.m., 200 block of Primera: After initiating a traffic stop of a driver who was driving aggressively, it was found the driver had outstanding arrest warrants in San Antonio and in Nueces County. He was arrested and his car impounded. The driver was taken to the magistrate’s office for booking.
