A Wildlife Tax Valuation Seminar is being conducted 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cibolo Nature Center to address wildlife management overview and property inventory. The program is especially for owners of less than 500 acres and will emphasize wildlife management for songbirds. Presenters will explain the history of this Texas law and the requirements to qualify for a wildlife management tax valuation. Cost is $70 per members ($90 per member couple) and $90 per non-member ($110 per couple) The seminar is limited to 30 participants. A donation of $2 per person for persons 13 years and older or $5 per family is suggested. Friends of Guadalupe River or Honey Creek are admitted free. Honey Creek State Natural Area is 2293.7 acres located in western Comal County. The diverse geology, flora, and fauna make Honey Creek a special place for all visitors using two miles of nature/interpretive trails. Second Saturday Art & Wine Walk features the galleries of Boerne hosting joint openings from 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy a glass of wine and the latest offerings on the Boerne art scene. Patrons can ride from gallery to gallery on The Creek Restaurant's trolley, which stops at galleries including Smilovici's, Cosas, Highland House, Bella Creo, Bear Moon Bakery, Bill Zaner's Art Haus, Arroyo Gallery, Carriage House and The Garden Path. The trolley will also pick up and drop off at The Holiday Inn Express, Ye Kendall Inn, Crescent Quarters and The Creek Restaurant. The trolley starts at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 8:30 p.m. WEDNESDAY, JAN. 16 Steak Night, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Waring General Store benefits the Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries. The $20-per-person cost includes ribeye steak or two chicken breasts, vegetables, homemade desserts, drink and live music. Raffle tickets will also be sold at $30 each for a chance to win prizes. The event honors the businesses and volunteers who participate in Chamber and community programs while contributing funds for the John P. Ebner Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship, funded with proceeds from the gala, was awarded to a Boerne area senior now pursuing a six-year degree in pharmacy.
