By Edmond Ortiz Staff Writer The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City School District seeks public input on proposed boundary changes for its elementary schools. The scheduled opening of John Sippel Elementary School in Schertz this August is prompting a redrawing of elementary attendance zones for the 2008-09 school year. Sippel will be the seventh elementary school in SCUCISD. Public forums are set for 6:30 p.m. today at Green Valley Elementary, 1694 Green Valley Road in Schertz, and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Watts Elementary, 100 Deer Meadow in Cibolo. District officials said the boundary changes would affect the following subdivisions: Belmont Park, Bent-wood Ranch, Chelsea Cros-sing, Cibolo Vista, Fair Lanes, Forest Ridge, Forest Ridge Estates, Greenshire, Green Valley Court, Live Oak Hills, Northcliffe, Pecan Grove, Riata Terrace, Saddlebrook Ranch, The Heights of Cibolo, The Retreat at Chelsea Park, The Trails at Kensing-ton Ranch, Whisper Meadow and the West Schaefer Road area (not including Aquavista). SCUC mailed a letter Dec. 19 to most parents with kin-dergarten through third grad-ers in these subdivisions. Parents in the Falcon Ridge subdivision also received a letter, but will not be moved from Watts Elementary School. For more information, call the SCUCSD Communications Department at 945-6232 or email to rvillarreal@scuc. txed.net. During these public forms, community members will also have an opportunity to submit suggestions for the new campus colors and mascot for Sippel Elementary. Suggestion forums are available for pick up and drop off at the district central office, 1060 Elbel Road in Schertz or at any SCUC campus.
