The most important news for this week is the annual membership meeting on Monday at 10 a.m.  We have an opportunity for four new board members.  At this time, members Mal McClinchie, Howard Goings, Claude Bandy, Mary Austad and Vernal Bracken have agreed to run for the open positions.  If you are interested in serving on the board, please see one of the members of the nominating committee - Tonie Rogers, Phil Gaston, or Glenna Croft.  Election for the new board members will be during the membership meeting.  One of the ways to show our interest and support for the operation and maintaining of the BSC is to be present for this meeting.  So let’s have a really good turn out.  Be there on the 21st.

The $15 per person membership dues and the completed membership form are needed now for the year 2008.  See Doris at the table she has set up for this purpose.

AARP Driver Safety Pro-gram will be Feb. 2, from 8:30 to 5:30 p.m. If interested, please sign up as soon as possible.

The senior center’s 10th annual Valentine Dinner and Dance for the community, family and friends will be Feb. 16 from 5:30 until 10:30 p.m.  The tickets are $30 per person, or reserved tables for six for $190, or $250 for eight people, with a special thank you item for the reserved tables. Any widow or widower may purchase their ticket for $20 and all tickets must be purchased by Feb. 1. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Spice of Life at 6:30 p.m. and the Wilburn Brothers Band plays at 7:30 p.m.  There will be a couple raffle baskets, some great door prizes and some mystery prizes as well.  It is a wonderful event, one of our main fund raisers, so get your tickets soon.  You don’t want to miss out.

The BSC is available for rent for baby showers, anni-versaries, parties and meetings. Tell your friends, family and neighbors.

The BSC gift shop is open Monday until Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m..
