Gwen Cunningham, Communities in School Project Director at Smithson Valley Middle School, took nine CIS students from SVMS and Mr. Bart Cooper, teacher at SVMS to the Tree of Life Church in New Braunfels, where they helped the Salvation Army assemble food boxes for Thanksgiving. The students helped fill 400 boxes of canned goods for needy families. Students helped assemble boxes, repackaged potatoes and onions from 50 pound bags into smaller bags, worked on the assembly line filling boxes and carrying boxes out to the parking lot. Courtesy photo
