ALAMO HEIGHTS

Theft

Dec. 8, 10:35 a.m., 4800 block of Broadway: A woman reported that while at Central Market, another person bumped into her, apologized and walked off. Then the woman went to the register, she realized her purse was unzipped and her wallet containing money and ID were missing. She filed a police report and signed an affidavit of prosecution.

Burglary of vehicle

Dec. 14, 7:26 a.m., 400 block of Evans: A homeowner reported the window of his truck had been smashed and a portable GPS unit had been stolen.

Possession of marijuana, warrant arrest

Dec. 17, 12:13 p.m., 800 block of College Boulevard: A patrol officer noticed two men asleep in a car in front of a residence. When the officer approached the car, he could see the passenger holding a small glass pipe. When they were awakened, the passenger tried to hide the pipe, and the officer had the pair get out of the car and waited until backup arrived. After searching the car and finding the pipe, it was found the passenger had three active arrests warrants in San Antonio. The driver was released at the scene and the passenger was taken in for processing.

Burglary of vehicle

Dec. 18, 7:03p.m., 5000 block of Broadway: A truck owner said his left rear window had been smashed while in the parking lot of a local bar and a laptop computer in a case had been stolen.

Theft

Dec. 20, 12:42 p.m., 100 Block of Dennis Avenue: A homeowner reported two rings worth approximately $6,800 stolen from her home.

Burglary

Dec. 20, 7:20 p.m., 6700 block of Broadway: A homeowner reported that the screen of one of his back windows was pried off and the frame had sustained damage. A search of the interior of the house showed nothing was missing.

OLMOS PARK

Criminal mischief

Jan. 1, 3:55 p.m., 100 block of West El Prado: A vehicle owner came to the Olmos Park Police Department to report that someone had damaged his car while it was parked at East Hermosa, near Pasco Encinal. An officer viewed the damages, which were a scrape on the driver’s side from the driver’s door to the rear quarter panel and filed a report.

Burglaries of buildings

Jan. 2, 7:45 a.m., 4100 block of McCullough: An office worker reported her desk had been pried open, but none of the items inside, including cash and prescription pads, were missing. In another office in the same are, another worker reported a dentist’s office was broken into, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Burglary of vehicle

Jan. 3, 4:33 a.m., 100 block of Park Drive: A person reported she had seen someone pull up to the address, go up to a truck parked there, open the doors and take a large object out and put it in their car. When the officer responded, both doors of the truck were open. The resident was contacted and said after inspecting his vehicle that there was a speaker box containing two 12-inch subwoofers missing. The officer took photos of the scene and noticed there was damage to one of the doors, which was likely the point of entry for the thief.

Robbery

Jan. 11, 3:54 a.m., 5300 block of McCullough: A man reported that two unknown males had hit him in the back of the head, pushed him down to the ground and removed a sum of money from his wallet. The victim refused medical treatment and the officer took a report of the incident.

TERRELL HILLS

Deadly conduct

Dec. 17, 8:10 p.m., 1100 block of Garraty: Police responded to a call that gunshots were fired in the vicinity of Tuttle and Harry Wurzbach. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a resident who said he heard six to 12 shots in an alley area. Officers searched the area and then received a 911 call from another address on Garraty, saying they had bullets in their door. Responding to that address, the officer found nine bullet holes going into and through the back door of the address. The officers gathered all information, evidence and photos of the scene, including shell casings.

Warrant arrest

Dec. 21, 9:39 p.m., 1000 block of Eldon: While an officer was conducting stationary traffic control at the intersection of Eldon and Wiltshire, he observed the driver of a truck disregard the stop sign and continue through. After making a traffic stop, and checking the driver’s license, it was found the driver had an active warrant out on him for assault causing bodily injury. After confirming the warrant, the driver was arrested and transported to the Terrell Hills Police Department for processing, and then taken to the Bexar County Magistrate’s Office for booking.

Assault causing bodily injury

Dec. 25, 1:59 a.m., 1000 block of Morningside: On Christmas morning, an officer was dispatched to the address on the report of a fight in progress. Meeting up with another officer at the scene, the officers knocked on the door of the apartment where the fight was supposed to be happening, to no effect. The officer encountered a resident who was bloodied about the face and ear, who stated he had been beat up and robbed of $600. EMS responded to the scene, one officer took photos of the injuries and the victim was transported to the hospital. A witness said he had seen one man beating up the victim while two others held him down. The witness said one of the assailants also threatened him if he called the police. It was after the three assailants left that the witness called 911.
