Shots fired at restaurant

Jan. 4, 3 a.m.

12800 block of W. Interstate 10

Officer responds to shots fired at a restaurant. Restaurant worker says suspect came into restaurant, said he didn’t want him to take his order and that he had a gun and was “Mexican Mafia.” The restaurant worker said the suspect then left and fired two shots in the air while driving away.

Jan. 8, 9 p.m.

8000 block of Fair Bend

An officer pursues a warrant for felony possession by knocking a residence and showing his badge. The woman who answers says the wanted man is away, and a man enters the front room. The officer again presents his badge and says he needs to enter the residence to make sure the wanted individual is not there. The woman began to close the burglar bar door, at which time the wanted man enters the room. The officer pulled the door open, and the woman tried to keep him from opening it. Once inside, the wanted individual identified himself and turned around to be handcuffed. The woman and man in the front room tried to prevent the wanted man from being handcuffed. The man tried to go into a back room, at which point he was taken down to a couch and handcuffed for everyone’s safety. The woman was also handcuffed. Custody was then taken of the wanted man. The man and woman were informed of their risk of arrest for harboring a fugitive and then released, and a small amount of marijuana was taken from the residence. The wanted man is in custody of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department.

Forgery kicks soldier off bank account

2500 block of Ridge Leaf Drive

Complainant called to report that while she was in Iraq, her ex forged the bank paperwork which removed her from a joint bank account they shared. She is not sure who forged her name, but she has seen the paperwork with the forged signature. She was given a case number.

Helotes lottery scam?

Jan. 10, 5:12 p.m.

10600 block of Black Horse

Resident was contacted by an unknown caller sating that he had won the lottery. The caller stated that the check would be delivered in the mail the next morning. The resident stated that he did not enter the lottery. The officer advised the resident to call the police if anyone delivers a check.

No rocks, please

Jan. 11, 10 p.m.

6800 Ingram Road

On a license inspection at Joe’s Volcano Bar, San Antonio Police Department officers observed condiments in the ice, bugs in debris in the Wild Turkey whiskey, Christian Brothers brandy and the Boulaine Banana Liqueur. They also found a 1L bottle of Courvoisier cognac with no labels or TABC stamps. Pool tables without tax stamps were also found. The manager was notified of the violations and said they would be fixed.

Forgotten, then stolen

9400 block of Caen

JC Penny customer reports leaving her purse in a dressing room and driving home. When she returned to the store at Ingram Mall, her purse containing checkbooks was no longer there.
