Comal ISD announced the appointments and reassignments of several administrators in the district. Two of the assignments will take affect in the weeks and months ahead.

Karen Stevens was appointed principal of the district’s alternative high school, Memorial High, effective Jan. 7. Stevens is a former assistant principal at Spring Branch Middle and has been with the district for five years. She’s worked in public education for 16 years. She earned her degrees from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Richard Kreiner, Memorial High’s former principal, will be the assistant principal at Specht Elementary when Sean Maika, the current assistant principal, moves over to open the new Timberwood Park Elementary. Kreiner has worked in the district since 2003 and has been in public education for 28 years. His degrees are from Kent State University and Sam Houston State University. He is currently assisting with administrative duties at Smithson Valley High School.

The district also announces that Tammy Lind, principal of Arlon Seay Intermediate, will succeed Jo Beth Jimerson as principal of Spring Branch Middle at the end of the school year. Jimerson is resigning in order to work on her doctoral degree. Lind has been a Comal ISD employee since 1996. She has been in public education for 22 years. Her degrees are from Stephen F. Austin University.
