Jefferson Bank has hired Rebeca “Beca” Short to head up its residential mortgage lending activities in the Boerne and Hill Country market areas, it was announced Jan. 24 by DeVan Watts, Market President-Boerne, Jefferson Bank.  Short and her mortgage lending team will office at Jefferson Bank’s Boerne Banking Center at 211 N. Main St. 

Short will originate residential mortgage loans and provide private banking services to customers in Boerne and throughout the Texas Hill Country.

“Beca has a proven track record of exceeding customer expectations,” says Watts. “Beca is very well-known and respected in the Boerne community—she is a member of a family that has resided in Kendall County for seven generations—so we are very happy to have her join our team.”

On the professional side, Short opened and managed HNB Mortgage in Boerne for 10 years. During this time, she assisted more than 1,000 families with their home financing needs.

On the civic side, she currently serves as a board member for the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce and chairs its Business Education Council, serves on the board of directors for the Kendall County Education Coalition and is a member of the Methodist Boerne Advisory Panel.

A Comfort native and resident, she is a graduate of Comfort High School and Angelo State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in finance.
