Geshe Drakpa Gelek (left) and Lama Passang Gelek enjoy lunch at The Peach Tree Café on Friday. Geshe Drakpa is a Tibetan Buddhist monk and student of the Dalai Lama. He is on vacation in Texas from his monastery home in India. Lama Passang is also an ordained Buddhist monk from India and has spent the last few years living in San Antonio. The pair visited the Boerne Thoughtful Living Center on Friday to address a group of about 24 adult students about spiritual matters from a Buddhist perspective. Geshe Drakpa speaks minimal English, so Lama Passang translates for him. Geshe Drakpa will continue to teach about peace at the San Antonio Peace Center at 1443 S. St. Mary’s every Saturday morning in February.
