The Friends of the Library annual book sale will be held Feb. 29 through March 2 at the Kendall County Fairgrounds. Sale proceeds are used to benefit facilities and services at the Boerne Public Library. According to Ray Becker, president of the Friends of the Library, there will be a minimum of 156 large tables holding books, CDs, audio books, magazines and videos sorted by categories to help buyers find specific interest items. “There will be a large children‘s section and a collector’s corner featuring Texana, rare and vintage books, etc. Other major areas of interest include paperback romance, occult, military and history,” Becker said. Admission is free and there is no charge for parking at the fairgrounds. Customers can pay with cash or check. No credit card purchases will be offered. March 2 is “bag day.” Patrons will be able to purchase all the books they can fit into a library-provided bag for $5. Afterward, the Friends will be taking sealed bids for all sale remainder items. The successful bidder must remove books from the sale site by close of business March 3, Becker said. For additional information, call a Friends member at (830) 249-3053 or e-mail
