Special to the Southside Reporter

Jennifer L. Pozner, executive director of Women in Media & News (WIMN), will discuss “Bachelor Babes, Bridezillas & Husband-Hunting Harems: Decoding Reality TVs Twisted Fairy Tales” at San Antonio College on Monday, at 11 a.m. in the Visual Arts & Technology Center (corner of Dewey and Lewis streets) in Room 120. The event is free.

Pozner will discuss why TV frames the humiliation of women as the perfect fairy tale romance in a humorous multi-media presentation that features the analysis of clips from shows like “The Bachelor,” “The Swan,” and “America’s Next Top Model.”

She explains how reality TV reinforces regressive stereotypes about women, men, love, marriage, sexuality and class in America while glorifying eating disorders and deriding female intelligence. Call 733-2299.
