Southside High School golfers were recognized during a regular Southside Independent School District board meeting Feb. 28. The boy’s golf teams and the girl’s golf team have excelled in the sport of golf.

The most recent plaque the Southside High School Cardinal golf team received was first place for varsity boys at the 2008 Pleasanton Invitational Golf Tournament.

The girls’ team received first place at the San Antonio Independent School District invitational.

Many of them get a head start at a young age. Southside ISD provides golf classes for its middle and high School students.

Some elementary school students also receive individual lessons at Mission Del Lago Golf Course.
