Thursday AARP Tax Aide volunteers are available to help tax-paying citizens who need help with their IRS returns. Anyone who pays taxes is eligible for this free service, which takes place every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Boerne Library. Saturday Cibolo Nature Center sponsors ”Rainwater Harvest” 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, presented by John Kight, engineer and rainwater catchment owner. Faye Jarrell will lead the group on a walk along the nature center trails, looking for wildflowers. She will bring some examples and children will make their own wildflower seed balls to toss in back yards. Wear sunscreen and bring water. Free for ages 3 to 10. Sunday Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday. On Aug. 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This act changed the dates for Daylight Saving Time in the United States to begin the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. March 12 Boerne High School PTO is in the process of organizing a new PTO for Boerne-Champion High School and needs input. If interested, attend the Boerne High School PTO meeting on March 12 at noon in the BHS library. A slate of officers for the new Boerne-Champion PTO is being formed; submit the names of anyone you would like to nominate for the positions of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer by March 7. The slate of officers for Boerne-Champion High School will be presented at the March 12 meeting and voted upon in April. March 13 The Leon Springs Business Association will meet 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 13 at World Karate, 24201 Boerne Stage Road, Leon Springs. World Karate is the first CPS Energy rebate customer and attendees will learn about future energy resources, including Wintricity, nuclear power, solar rebates and more.
