Special to the Southside Reporter Students in fifth through eighth grades are invited to experience “A Day in the Life of the Button Band.” It is a band camp at Central Catholic High School on April 19. It will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp is free. It will give students the opportunity to explore instrumental music through icebreakers, musical family stations and marching games. The camp concludes with a performance for parents. Lunch and a camp T-shirt will be provided. Previous musical training is not required. Central Catholic High School’s “Mighty Button Band” was organized in 1935. Today, it includes students from Providence High School.
