Underage drinking bags nine

Feb. 10, 1:41 a.m., 300 block of West Castano Street: Two officers were dispatched after a complaint of a loud party at a residence. When they contacted the resident, they saw several cases of beer around the area and several empty cans. The officers also noticed that most everyone present was under the legal drinking age. Nine of the partygoers received citations for being a minor in possession of alcohol and were detained until designated drivers picked all of them up.

Copper thieves hit construction site

Feb. 11, 10:11 a.m., 5700 block of N. New Braunfels: A foreman at a construction site reported that someone had cut into the walls of the building and stole approximately 50 wires of different lengths and colors. The foreman said there was no way to secure the site until later in the week and signed a prosecution affidavit.

Thief steals toolbox from garage

Feb. 12, 9:28 a.m., 300 block of Kennedy Avenue: A resident and job site superintendent reported a job box had been stolen from the property sometime in the last day or two. The resident said his garage was under construction and the box was removed from a small door frame area. The superintendent said the box was extremely heavy and that it probably took four people to remove it. The officer noticed drag marks on the nearby pavement and dirt.

Registration sticker stolen off work van

Feb. 12, 10:08 a.m., 5900 block of Broadway: A store owner reported that someone had stolen the registration sticker from his unlocked work van. The person also tried to remove the inspection sticker, but was unsuccessful.

Thief hits car at Central Market

Feb. 12, 8:25 p.m., 4800 block of Broadway: A car owner reported that several bags of personal items had been stolen from her unlocked car at the supermarket.

Two netted for drugs at school

Feb. 13, 12:33 p.m., 6900 block of Broadway: School officials at Alamo Heights high School reported that two students were observed returning from off campus, and the official said these students did not have off-campus privileges. When the students were confronted, they both smelled of marijuana smoke and acted strangely. Both students were searched and officials found marijuana in a baggie in one student’s backpack and a glass smoking pipe with residue in the other’s backpack. Both students’ parents were notified and told their sons were being taken to the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center.
