Plans are in the making for the Bulverde Senior Center spring craft show scheduled for April 19.

This event is always enjoyed and appreciated by all. Spaces are available inside and out to display your crafts and rummage items for sale.

The craft show is open to the community, so come by and join us at this fun activity and look for that special item you may find that you just can’t resist buying.

Please sign up to bring homemade goodies for sale at the event. Magie Loesch is chairing the event with the assistance of Nelda Martinez, Betty Conner and Sherry Keller.

On March 29, BSC will hold a chili cook-off and games from 2 to 6 p.m. Cook up your favorite recipe and compete in this fun event. Or, you are welcome to come just to taste and enjoy the chili.

Please sign up at the center if you will be competing. Doug Underwood and Ann Stewart are chairing this event.

We are pleased to announce that a new piece of equipment, a telesensory, has been donated for use at BSC.

The telesensory, which looks somewhat like a computer, is an enlarger-viewer for use by our members or people in the community with significantly impaired vision. It is presently on display in the large central hall, but will soon be moved into the craft room for use.

Another exercise opportunity is being offered to BSC members. Join us at Bulverde City Park every weekday at 9:30 a.m. to walk and enjoy support and companionship as well as exercise.

Maria Nash is in charge of this group, or you can get additional information from Tonie Rogers. Tonie has also prepared a bulletin board for a fun activity – “Walking Across Texas.” See Tonie to keep track of your walking distances in this fun way.

At Monday’s potluck dinner, our members appreciated the information on conservation and safety provided by Pednernales Electric Co. employee Elizabeth Mathews.

BSC is selling the kiln which was formerly used for firing ceramics. Closing date on this sale will be March 31.

The Bulverde Food Bank needs our assistance. We are currently collecting canned goods (fruit, veggies, meat, etc.) to provide aid to those in need in our community.

If you have not yet taken advantage of the income tax preparation services provided by Howard Goings, he will be available in the craft room on Wednesdays from noon to 2 p.m. through April 9. No appointment is necessary.

Remember, there is a posting on the bulletin board indicating which members are in need of your prayers and support.

You may call the center at (830) 438-3111 for further information on any of our activities.

The center will be closed tomorrow, Good Friday.
