Want tickets for Cornyation, Oyster Bake, Night in Old San Antonio and many other Fiesta events? Get them at The Fiesta® Store, 2611 Broadway, starting Friday. Fiesta organizations will have volunteers selling tickets from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Fiesta goers from around the city, eager for prize seats, will start lining up in front of the store well before it opens -- in fact, the first customers traditionally arrive this afternoon. Last year, lines were long, and spirits were festive, said Chuck Blische, executive director of the Fiesta Commission, of those who withstood the morning chill with lawn chairs, blankets and thermoses. Tickets are limited, so it’s first-come, first served. Early birds will have a chance to lounge in eight seats provided by Santikos Theatres, the official Fiesta movie theatre. Those in line Friday morning can enjoy Kiolbassa sausages and Starbucks coffee served by volunteers from Capital One Bank. While at the store, a central location for tickets and Fiesta information, Fiesta lovers can shop for 2008 merchandise including t-shirts, posters, pins and medals among other favorites. Not all Fiesta organizations sell tickets at the store. Many offer advance sales by phone or charge admission at the gate. Sixty of Fiesta’s 100 events have free admission, including the Fiesta Carnival in Parking Lot C at the Alamodome. Information about all official Fiesta events, including phone numbers, is available at the Fiesta Commission Web site at www.fiesta-sa.org.
