Mt. Valley Middle School principal named |

Special to the Bulverde News Scott Hammond, the principal of S.C. Lee Junior High School in the Copperas Cove ISD near Fort. Hood, will be the first principal of Mt. Valley Middle School in the Comal ISD. Hammond will join Comal ISD in late April, and begin hiring a staff for the new middle school that will accommodate sixth through eighth grade beginning in August. He has taught, coached, and been an administrator in the Copperas Cove ISD since 1994. Hammond’s degrees in-clude a bachelor’s in exercise and sports studies and a master’s in education administration from Tarleton State University. Mt. Valley Middle, located in Sattler, is the former Mt. Valley Elementary School and is currently going through a major $14.5 million renovation as part of Bond 2005. Students attending the new school will be from the Startzville and Rebecca Creek elementary attendance zones. Mt. Valley Middle will feed into Canyon Lake High School.
