The Sally M. Kingsbury Sarcoma Research Foun-dation will be holding the 2nd annual Sally M. Kingsbury Knock Out Sarcoma Cancer Fundraiser during Gruene Market Days in Gruene on April 19 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The first annual benefit raised over $37,000. Net proceeds went to the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and were marked specifically for sarcoma cancer research.

Soft tissue sarcomas are malignant tumors that can develop from fat, muscle, nerve or fibrous tissues, deep skin tissue, and can occur in almost any organ. Sarcoma has not received the same level of attention or research funding as other more common forms of cancer. The mission is to continue to help research facilities dedicated to finding a cure for sarcoma.

The purchase of Knock-Out Roses and on-going contributions will help raise money for research to cure one of today’s deadliest cancers. Knock-Out Rose will be sold in two-gallon containers for $20 each.
