Special to the North San Antonio Times

Several residents of Alamo Heights have reported that a Hispanic male has contacted them at their residence, asking for money to purchase medicine for a family member. The suspect has been described as being anxious in his demeanor and very convincing regarding his reported need for money.

This suspect is active in Alamo Heights and the surrounding San Antonio area. There has been one reported occurrence in Terrell Hills.

The suspect is described as average height (5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches) and ranging in age from 25 years of age to late 30s. The suspect does not park his vehicle in front of the house, but parks a short distance away. Vehicles possibly associated with the suspect are a red Nissan or unknown make/model silver-colored vehicle. The suspect normally makes contact in the early evening hours, but initiated contact at one residence at 3:30 a.m.

Alamo Heights residents are encouraged to contact the police dispatcher at 822-3321 should this suspect come to their door. Alamo Heights police officials warned people to not converse with the suspect until confirmed the police are en route to your residence. The suspect will not stay long at any location to avoid contact with the police and may recognize stalling tactics on the part of a resident.

This suspect is wanted only for identification and questioning purposes at this time, according to police officials. Although his presence is unsettling, the only criminal offense known at this time is a City Code violation for solicitation.

The police department is very interested in this individual and wants to circumvent any ulterior motive the suspect may have for contacting residents at their door. With the help of the citizens of Alamo Heights, police will catch up with this individual and stop his activities.
