Thursday Pecan Valley Neighborhood Association will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m., at Pecan Valley Elementary School. The main focus of the meeting will be the H-E-B McCreless Center. Velasquez Learning and Leadership Development Center is helping retirees, disabled veterans and low-wage workers file tax returns. Fiesta De Cascarones presents a “Safe and Healthy Fiesta.” This is a community outreach event on April 18, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be held at Pollard Memorial U.M.C., at 5303 Panam Expressway at Interstate 35 South. Officials from Neighborhood Watch, Cellular on Patrol, Safe and Sober Program will be present. There will also be free health screenings and job opportunities. Main Ave., Wednesdays at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series (ACTS) has a class meeting every Thursday, from 7 to 8 p.m., and a support group meeting afterward from 8 to 9 p.m. ACTS is a support program to enable people who want to maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
