Thursday

Boerne Community Theatre sponsors “Ghost of a Chance,” a comedy by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus. A young widow runs into the ghost of her first husband as she tries to vacation with her fiance and his mother. Performances are Thursday through Saturday. Saturday

Texas AgriLife Extension Service will hold the Kendall County Outdoor Family Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Cibolo Nature Center. The fair is free and activities will include a nature walk, mule wagon rides, treasure hunt and art in the park.

Keep Boerne Beautiful sponsors the annual Don’t Mess With Texas “Trash-Off” from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Sign in at the Boerne City Pool entrance. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 150 volunteers. A light breakfast will be provided. The registration form can be found at www.keepboernebeautiful.com. Monday

Boerne Public Library’s Food for Thought discussion group on Monday at noon will talk about Nancy Horan’s “Loving Frank,” the fictionalized account of Frank Lloyd Wright’s scandalous and tragic love affair with Mamah Borthwick. Bring a brown-bag lunch to the discussion; the library will provide complimentary snacks and hot beverages.

April 18

Lama Passang, a master teacher of Tibetan Buddhism, will be speaking at the Thoughtful Living Center on April 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The first hour will be an overview of Buddhism and the second hour will be question and answer. April 25

Kendall Soil & Water Conservation District will sponsor a fish sale for local landowners. Fish orders can be placed at the district office, 39350 Interstate 10 West, Suite 8, between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays. Fish will be delivered to the Junior Livestock Barn on May 2. Bring paper feed sacks to transport your bags of fish. Call, e-mail, or come by for information and price sheet. Plan to pay in advance. Species available this year include catfish, blue cat (supplies limited), bluegills, hybrid bream, minnows, red ear, and largemouth bass. Triploid grass carp are available, but can only be purchased with a valid Texas Parks and Wildlife permit.

May 2

The Kendall County Bar Association will hold a Law Day event at the Kendall County Courthouse from 5 to 7 p.m. May 12. Pro bono law services will be offered to those who qualify.
