The Spotlight Theatre and Arts Group Inc. (STAGE) board of directors has awarded the Bulverde Senior Center tickets for a benefit performance, “Defiance,” by John Patrick Shanley.

The setting is on a United States Marine Corps base in North Carolina in 1971.  Two officers, one black and one white, are on a collision course over race, women and the high cost of doing the right thing.

Shanley’s riveting new work is about power, love and responsibility.  BSC has received 110 advanced sale tickets for the May 1 performance.  The price of the tickets are $16 and proceeds will benefit the senior center.

Please help sell these tickets. We need to give STAGE feedback by April 24 on how many we have sold.  See Glenna Croft for tickets.

Thanks to the STAGE board of directors by honoring the BSC with this benefit performance.

The annual spring craft show is this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Margie Loesch is chairing this event. Nelda Martinez is helping with food sales. Betty Conner is managing the rummage sale, and Sherry Keller is in charge of the bake sale.  We do need lots of home baked goodies as these are always big sellers.  You may also bring your new, or slightly used items for the rummage and place in the garage.  Thanks for all that you can do to help with this great event.

Pals Senior Night Out will be a prom (remember your High School prom?) on April 26 from 2 until 5 p.m. Bring your formal clothes out of the back of the closet, and enjoy a glamorous evening.  This will be the last Pals event for this season.

Attorney Larry Shallcross will speak on inheritance law at the BSC on April 28.

The BSC could not survive without all the wonderful things our volunteers do.  We must do a better job of logging in your volunteer hours.  Please, before you leave each day, stop and log your hours in the book on the front table.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may be for you, but we do need this information.

The $15 membership dues and a completed membership form from each member are due now for 2008.  See Mary at the desk she has set up for this purpose.
