Top issues:
Subdivision and annexation: In the face of water rationing and rapid business growth, which is generally resisted by the majority of the community. According to the Hill Country View, March 27 edition, “the city currently has 2,349 existing (water) connections…” which cause us to ration water or face fines of $500 per day and possible disconnection. “An additional 2,774 connections are projected…” for Stone Creek and S-Bar Ranch, essentially doubling the current demand during drought. I believe both these issues can be addressed by taking lessons from other small communities that have been successful in retaining their way of life by limiting growth to an amount that can be supported by their scarcest resource. Personal statement: “The experience I have gained in over 40 years of leading large, complex organizations has given me a very good understanding of how to communicate, build consensus, negotiate and manage contracts, make and deliver sensible plans, and to listen. My commitment is to understand the concerns of the residents of Fair Oaks Ranch and to openly convert them into actions reflecting the wishes of the community.”
