Vandals tag high school

March 16, 12:39 a.m., 6900 block of Broadway: A patrol officer noticed that a person had spray-painted and name and symbol on an outside wall of the visitor’s football locker room. The officer took photos of the graffiti and started a file on the incident.

Public intoxication repeat offender

March 19, 4:34 a.m., 400 block of College Boulevard: While patrolling the neighborhood, an officer noticed a car parked about 20 inches from the curb with the driver asleep behind the wheel and snoring heavily. The officer was finally able to wake the driver and had him exit the car. He was unsteady on his feet and smelled of alcohol. When questioned what he was doing, he denied being asleep and said he was reading his cell phone. The officer remembered that this was the third time he had found this man asleep in his car. Considering the man to be a danger to himself and others, as he could have woken up and attempted to drive, the man was arrested for public intoxication and taken to the Alamo Heights Police Department for processing. The man was eventually released to the custody of his wife.

Thief steals car plates

March 20, 2:19 p.m., 200 block of Ellwood: A car owner reported that someone had stolen the front license plate from his car. He said he had not hit or run over anything to make the plate fall off. The driver was advised to have new plates issued to him.

Traffic stops nets drug

March 23, 2:43 a.m., 600 block of Corona Avenue: After making a traffic stop for failing to signal, a patrol officer notice the smell of burning marijuana coming from the car. Upon questioning, the driver said he had smoked a little bit of pot. Having the driver and passenger exit the car, the officer found marijuana “roaches,” a baggie containing flakes and a metal pipe. The two were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tires slashed

March 23, 3:04 p.m., 100 block of Arcadia Place: A car owner reported the two passenger-side tires of her car had been slashed while in the parking lot of the apartment building at the address. After towing the car to a repair shop, it was determined the tires were beyond repair, and the vandals had caused more than $400 in damage. The owner signed a non-consent form indicating her desire to prosecute if a suspect was identified.

Convertible top slashed

March 25, 10:22 p.m., 300 block of Montclair Avenue: A resident reported the nylon convertible top to his car had been slashed open. The officer also noted that the truck next to the convertible had also been burglarized. Nothing was missing from the convertible, but an iPod was taken from the truck.
