Saturday

Leon Springs Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p. m. at the Leon Springs Dance Hall, 24135 W. Interstate 10, in the parking lot (Boerne Stage Road exit, across from Rudy’s Barbecue). Vendors offer plants, herbs and a variety of edibles, from fresh produce to honey, nuts, breads, jams and jellies. Boerne Panhellenic presents a Style Show and Brunch on Saturday at Ye Kendall Inn from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise money for its scholarship fund. Fashions will be by Ella Blue, Cutie Patootie and Traditions at the Depot. Advance tickets are $30. Contact Diana Albrecht for more details at (830) 537-4325.

Second Saturday Art & Wine event is set 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Several galleries in the downtown Boerne district serve wine and exhibit the latest from the Boerne art scene. Trolley service from various Boerne hotels will be available from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Check www.boerne.org/events for details.

Saturday and Sunday

Boerne Art and Wine on the Creek will be held Saturday and Sunday. Local artists display and sell art. Live music, food and drinks will be offered. The event is at River Road Park, 415 River Road (Highway 46 East)

Sunday

Bicyclists can take part in the Fair Oaks Afternoon Ride, starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fair Oaks Ranch Center. Mileage varies. Call (210) 698-6625 for details.

Monday

Boerne Parks & Recreation is offering Hatha Yoga 101 at the Cibolo Nature Center, 140 City Park Road on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. through June 6. This class is ideal for a beginning yoga student with little to no experience with yoga. All you need is a yoga mat and you’re set for the class. Yoga attire consists of comfortable clothes that you allow you to move easily and bare feet.  Register with Tori Bellos at (830) 249-9511 ext. 1181 at the new Parks & Recreation office at 1017 Adler Road.

Ground will be broken at 3 p.m. Monday for the James Kiehl River Bend Park, 138 River Bend Road, Comfort. The groundbreaking will launch construction of a new park in the new Kendall County Park System. This park is made possible by the Commissioners Court of Kendall County, dedicated citizens, organizations and committees; the passage of Proposition One, Kendall County Partnership for Parks and a grant from the Kronkosky Foundation.

The Kendall County Bar Association will hold a Law Day event at the Kendall County Courthouse from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Pro bono law services will be offered to those who qualify.

June 3

Boerne Village Band, the oldest German-American Band in the world, offers Abendkonzerts (evening concerts) in the summer months. The 2008 performance dates are: June 3, June 17, July 15 and July 29. Concerts are held at the Main Street Plaza gazebo at 7:30 p.m. Drinks, tapes and CDs are available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs or other seating. Donations are welcome.

June 6

Boerne Parks & Recreation will host the annual Child/Adult Team Fishing Tournament on June 7 from 8 a.m. to noon at Kendall County’s newest park; Joshua Springs Park & Preserve. Each team must have one child (younger than 18) and one adult (18 or older). Each participant will receive a tournament T-shirt.

Registration is free and forms can be found at www.ci.boerne.tx.us/parks. Return registration forms to Tori Bellos with Boerne Parks & Recreation (830) 249-9511 ext. 1181, 1017 Adler Road on or before June 6. Registration will not occur at the event.

Boerne Adventure Fest will follow the tournament from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
