TERRELL HILLS Burglary attempt April 1, 11:13 p.m., 400 block of Sheraton: An officer was dispatched to an alarm notification. The officer found the exterior double doors to the basement had been forced open. Contacting the neighbors, they said they had seen a car driving several time past the house slowly earlier in the evening. After alerting the homeowner, the officer took photos of the scene and attempted to retrieve fingerprint evidence. The resident said nothing appeared to be missing. A nasty trick April 1, 11:16 p.m., 300 block of Ridgemont: A homeowner reported that an unknown man had put a paper bag full of dog manure on his porch and lit it on fire, rang the bell and then ran away. The homeowner said he saw the man run away, but couldn’t identify him. He let the bag burn out and called the police. The officer noted that no damage had been done to the house. Aggravated robbery April 11, 11:55 p.m., 2200 block of Harry Wurzbach: Officers from the Terrell Hills and Alamo Heights Police Departments responded to workers at a restaurant that had just closed. A worker reported the lights had been flickering inside and then went out, which activated the emergency lights. As he went outside to inspect the breaker, he saw two men run towards him and demand he turn over his wallet. As he tried to escape, he was caught and shoved to the ground, and one suspect started going through his pockets. Another worker came out and saw what was going on and ran off, trying to get help. One of the suspects chased him and told him to stop or he would shoot him. The suspects took off, and when police arrived, the two employees showed the police where everything had happened, and that the power switch had actually been turned off by one of the suspects. Man attacked on N. New Braunfels April 18, 1:29 a.m., 400 block of Ivy: While on patrol, an officer saw a man stumbling down the street, almost falling down on several occasions. After he stopped to talk to the man, the man collapsed on the street and the officer called EMS. The man said he had been walking along North New Braunfels when four men came out of nowhere and beat him up. The man was taken to the hospital and treated. The officer was able to alert the man’s parents and let them know where he was and what had happened.
