Chewy
Schertz Animal Services

Chewy is a handsome 3-year-old Catahoula Leopard mix with an amazing spirit. He’s an independent dog in many ways, but still loves human companionship. Chewy is neutered, walks well on a leash, loves to play fetch and would make an outstanding companion for any person. He’d do best if he’s the lone pet. Contacts: 619-1550 or schertz.petfinder.com. Bring paper, aluminum cans and empty toner cartridges to recycle to benefit our furry friends.

Heidi
Animal Defense League

I am Heidi, a German Shepherd who is a real lover. Frankly, I shouldn’t be so nice to humans because I was treated very poorly by a couple of folks. They refused to take care of me. But thanks to a caring veterinarian, and his staff who refused to give me back to those people, I am now at the Animal Defense League where I am looking for my forever home.

I weigh a svelte 66 pounds – not bad for a girl. I am 13 months old, fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. I love car rides, children, grownups, other dogs, and kitty cats. I love to go for long walks and am a well behaved lady. I am also house trained! All you have to do is come see me at 11300 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio 78217 or visit me on the web at: www.adltexas.org.

Shayla
Schertz Humane Society

Shyla is a Manchester Terrier mix, weighing all of 10-11 pounds! She does very well with other dogs, and is a little shy with some humans at first, but does come around. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and is micro-chipped. She would love a settled woman or couple of her own, with no small children (older kids are fine), and a nice lap to cuddle up in. She is fine with cats, but does tend to chase them if they run. Her adoption fee is $100. To take this wonderful dog home, please go to our Web site: www.homesforpets.org or call 566-7776.

Be sure and sign up for our seventh annual Doggie Dash 5K Run/ 3K Walk, with or without your dog, on May 31.
