Stars Cheer & Tumbling Academy had four teams compete at the national competition in Orlando, Fla. last month. Two of the teams walked away with first place trophies, one team walked away with second place and the remaining team finished in the second half.

Coaches Jorge Martinez, Raven Uecker, Peggy Larson, Kathleen Arndt, Alexis Larson, Victor Villa, Anthony Ethe-ridge, Kayla Koenning and Mike Sotello led the Vipers teams this year. Stars Vipers brought home 33 first-place trophies, 8 second-place trophies and 8 third-place trophies this year.

Vipers finished the year with 5 national championship titles, and best choreography for the 2007-2008 competition year.

Stars has expanded the gym an extra 3,000 square feet which features a tumble trak, rod floor, and Olympic trampoline. Owner Peggy Larson said Stars also offers tumbling classes in beginner, intermediate and advanced and welcomes newcomers to check out the new gym, at 1230 Borgfeld Road in Schertz (566-3200).
